Business Analyst - Operations Analytics

Rover is a pet care marketplace connecting pet parents with trusted sitters and dog walkers across the US, Canada, and Europe, headquartered in Seattle. The Business Analyst - Operations Analytics partners with Trust & Safety leadership to measure, improve, and communicate program health and operational performance. The role focuses on translating ambiguous business problems into clear analytical requirements and building data products that support account safety and fraud mitigation.

• Partner with Trust & Safety leadership to define measurement strategy for program health and operational performance, including metrics, reporting, and monitoring rhythms.

• Analyze key Trust & Safety operational metrics to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and areas needing deeper investigation.

• Develop and present clear narratives and recommendations from analytics findings to senior Operations leaders.

• Collaborate with Account Safety leadership to measure performance and proactively identify and mitigate fraud trends on the platform.

• Act as a strategic thought partner to business leaders, advising on investments and optimization using data-driven insights.

• Support the construction and maintenance of core reporting abstractions built in dbt.

• 4+ years of experience working cross-functionally with complex datasets to support organizational decision-making.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to narrate analysis and results concisely for business partners.

• Ability to translate stakeholder questions into clear, actionable analytical problems with relative autonomy.

• Hands-on experience building data abstractions using tools such as dbt or Airflow.

• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Mode, Looker, Periscope, Tableau).

• Strong SQL proficiency, including confidence reviewing others' code.

• Nice to have: Master’s degree in a quantitative field or applied statistics experience; Python/R; experience with customer service datasets (e.g., Zendesk); A/B testing and experiment design.

• Hybrid role based in Seattle; in-office Monday and Thursday at Seattle HQ.
