Portfolio Analyst
Summary
Lenox Advisors (an NFP Corp., an Aon Company subsidiary) provides wealth management and insurance solutions to high-net-worth individuals and families. The Portfolio Analyst supports Asset Managers and the SVP of Asset Management by analyzing client portfolios, developing allocation recommendations, and enabling portfolio analysis used in client pitches and reviews.
What you'll do
- Analyze investment portfolio performance, style, and risk; deliver portfolio reviews, observations, and attribution-related analysis.
- Prepare client and prospect materials including portfolio review write-ups, reinvestment “before/after” analyses, and Monte Carlo simulations.
- Evaluate outside accounts and recommend asset allocation and manager selections (managed accounts and variable annuities).
- Use tools such as Y:Charts, Right Capital, eMoney, Excel, Morningstar Annuity, Envestnet, and Tamarac to support allocation and planning analysis.
- Execute and support trading activities, including order entry on Fidelity Institutional platforms (Wealthscape), and serve as a lead trader for unmanaged brokerage accounts.
- Perform and document investment manager and vendor due diligence; contribute to investment-related committees and internal training/market update calls.
- Monitor market conditions via vendor calls and outlooks; communicate market updates to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain and update analysis/due-diligence software and data (including annual capital market assumption updates) across platforms.
- Maintain and update strategic model portfolios in Right Capital aligned with firm capital market assumptions.
- Support development and ongoing coverage of investment and variable annuity solutions; assist leaders and operations with special projects.
Requirements
Education: 4-year college degree.
Experience: 5 years of broad financial services background or general portfolio management experience; client-facing communication experience is a plus.
Licenses/Certifications: Series 7 required; Series 66 preferred (must obtain); Life & Health license; CFA/CFP/CIMA are a plus.
Investment knowledge: Broad asset classes (equity, fixed income, alternatives); investment vehicles including open/closed-end funds, private offerings, event/process-driven alternatives, and SMAs; variable annuities and optional riders; money manager due diligence; ability to discuss capital markets and economic fundamentals.
Regulatory knowledge: Understanding of SEC/FINRA/DOL/IRS regulatory environment.
Skills: Time management; strategic thinking and probing questions; excellent listening, communication, and presentation; strong documentation/note-taking; experience with portfolio accounting, order/trading, billing, compliance, reporting, performance, or CRM systems; ability to recommend operational/system improvements.
