Business Intelligence Analyst

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is a leading pediatric healthcare provider focused on clinical care, research, and innovation. The Business Intelligence Analyst role supports strategic decisions and improved patient outcomes by analyzing data, translating clinical and operational needs into technical deliverables, and bridging stakeholders with product and development teams.

• Provide proactive support to health system stakeholders and product teammates, including independent issue resolution and facilitating collaboration between technical teams and subject matter experts.

• Gather and document user requirements through interviews, visioning sessions, and direct observation of workflows.

• Lead and participate in problem-solving regarding product/feature strengths and limitations, tradeoffs, costs, and alternative solutions.

• Collaborate with product users and development teams to ensure transparency and shared understanding of requirements, obstacles, and technical solutions.

• Translate user requirements into clear specifications with detailed informatics context to support custom coding and implementation.

• Develop and maintain documentation for scope, workflows, informatics details, and product requirements.

• Assist with feature testing, end-user testing and acceptance, and communication/orientation for released products and features.

• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and Institutional Review Board (IRB) regulations, including data privacy, security, confidentiality, and release restrictions.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Nursing, Public Health, Clinical Information Systems, Informatics, IT, Sciences, Health Information Management) or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Minimum 4 years of experience in business analysis, healthcare, information technology, or data analytics with customer-facing responsibilities.

• Experience working on teams developing, implementing, and maintaining software or other IT solutions.

• Ability to write clear technical memos, report sections, and product documentation.

• Ability to explain technical requirements, issues, and solutions to non-technical audiences.

• Preferred: Professional certification in agile methodologies and planning tools (e.g., Jira).

• Preferred: Proficiency with Microsoft BI tools including SSRS and Power BI (or equivalent).

• Desired (not required): Epic certification in Cogito or other Epic modules.

• Pay range: $70,720.00–$115,627.20 per year (salary).
