Summary
H&H is a nationally recognized infrastructure engineering firm with a long-standing history and offices across the U.S. The Business Intelligence Analyst will support business performance and strategic decision-making by building analytics solutions, dashboards, and data models while partnering with engineering, finance, and operations teams.
What you'll do
- Collect, process, and analyze large datasets from project management, financial, and CRM/ERP systems.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to deliver business insights.
- Create process flows, automate analytics, and build API interfaces between operational and analytics platforms.
- Identify data trends, patterns, and anomalies and communicate findings and recommendations to management.
- Develop data marts and associative data models; apply data modeling techniques to support reporting.
- Conduct data forensics to resolve data governance issues and participate in data governance activities.
- Use BI tools (e.g., Qlik, Talend, Power BI, Tableau, SQL) to create and maintain data models and reports.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity through governance practices and regular audits.
- Collaborate with engineering, finance, operations, and management to align BI deliverables with strategic goals.
- Provide training and support for end users on BI tools and reporting processes.
- Provide data-driven insights in strategic planning; analyze market trends, client data, and project performance.
- Develop KPIs and metrics to monitor and improve business performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a similar role; engineering consulting or related industry experience preferred.
- Experience with BI tools such as Qlik, Power BI, and SQL, including data modeling techniques.
- Proficiency in SQL and knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
- Deltek Vantagepoint experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) preferred.
- Preferred: understanding of engineering project management methodologies/tools; consulting environment experience; proactive, self-motivated, detail-oriented.
Conditions
- Location: office-based in New York City.
- Compensation: salary range $80,000–$100,000 annually (commensurate with experience).
