Financial Analyst
Summary
CAVA is hiring a Financial Analyst to support financial planning, analysis, and decision-making across its growing multi-unit restaurant portfolio. You will partner with Finance, Accounting, Operations, and Real Estate to drive budgeting, forecasting, and performance insights using large datasets and scalable reporting.
What you'll do
Support budgeting, forecasting, and monthly performance analysis for restaurant-level labor, occupancy, and operating costs.
Build and maintain financial models for new restaurant openings, labor deployment, and cost trends.
Prepare variance analyses versus budget and forecast, identifying key drivers and insights.
Own recurring performance metrics and reporting for assigned restaurants or cost categories, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Partner with Operations and Real Estate teams to assess financial impacts and support decision-making.
Improve data accuracy, automate recurring reports, and streamline planning/reporting processes.
Build and maintain scalable reports and dashboards using Excel, Tableau, and/or Power BI.
Analyze data sourced from financial systems and data warehouses to support reporting and insights.
Support month-end close activities including accruals, prepaid reviews, and expense validation.
Conduct ad hoc analysis and research to support Finance and Restaurant Leadership.
Participate in post-investment reviews and continuous improvement of planning and forecasting processes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
1–3 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, or a related role.
Strong accounting fundamentals (accruals, prepaids, expense recognition).
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Ability to analyze large datasets and translate findings into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
Exposure to SQL and relational databases for querying financial/operational data.
Nice to have: experience with data warehouses/analytics environments (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks).
Nice to have: familiarity with financial planning/ERP tools (Hyperion, SAP, Oracle, Adaptive, Anaplan).
Strong written/verbal communication and ability to explain financial results to non-finance partners.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-changing environment.
Physical requirements include ability to operate office equipment, assess details, communicate effectively, and occasionally move/transport items up to 50 pounds (for certain positions).
