Wellness Associate (Caregiver)
Summary
AgeWell Senior Living (Serenades at West Orange) is seeking a Full-Time Wellness Associate (Caregiver) to support resident wellbeing through attentive care and service. This role provides daily living assistance and responds to resident needs and emergencies in alignment with each Resident Service Plan.
What you'll do
Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, mobility).
Monitor residents’ physical and mental condition and promptly report changes to the Wellness Director/Manager.
Respond to resident emergencies, provide first aid, and coordinate appropriate medical follow-up.
Maintain resident areas as clean, neat, and orderly; assist with clothing and laundry as instructed.
Support meal selection, meal service, and feeding as assigned.
Assist with activity programming as assigned.
Maintain records and files according to policy.
Keep inventory of medical supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
Help find shift coverage for unexpected call-outs and assist with maintaining assignments for the Wellness Director.
Support orientation and onboarding of new Wellness Associates.
Follow emergency procedures and all safety policies and procedures.
Complete at least 6 hours of in-service education per year.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Current State Nurse’s Aide registration preferred but not required.
Experience and passion for working with seniors.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (pushing, bending, lifting up to 60 lbs; standing for extended periods; bending and reaching).
May be required to use a Hoyer Lift.
Ability to maintain positive working relationships with residents, families, peers, and staff; communicate effectively with leadership and team.
In good physical and emotional health and free of communicable diseases.
Conditions
Employment type: Full-Time.
Schedule flexibility: may be required to work weekends and holidays; shifts other than the one hired for; extended hours up to 16 hours per day.
