Forecast Planning Manager

Summary

Ancient Nutrition is a mission-driven supplements and superfoods company focused on making nutrient-dense products accessible while supporting organic regenerative farming. The Forecast Planning Manager/Analyst will partner with Strategy, Sales Leadership, and Operations to lead the sales forecasting process and improve forecast accuracy. This role also supports full P&L work and cross-functional planning to enable better business decisions.

What you'll do

  • Manage and drive the sales forecasting process across Sales, Strategy, and Operations.

  • Manage sales and trade forecasts across multiple channels.

  • Partner with sales leads to update and analyze SKU-level forecast data using consumption trends, promotional cadence, launches, and retirements.

  • Analyze trade spend and promotional activity at the strategic customer level to inform future planning and forecasting strategy.

  • Ensure forecasting best practices are followed and provide guidance to more junior team members.

  • Serve as liaison between Sales and Operations to ensure forecasts are reflected in demand planning and provide exception reporting for potential inventory issues.

  • Prepare and socialize monthly reporting on variances to forecast and changes to future growth projections.

  • Build P&Ls for promotions, trade changes, and future planning scenarios.

  • Coordinate with department heads to update quarterly expense and capital spending forecasts and support annual budget/target development.

  • Partner with IT to develop a data warehouse to support forecasting and related analysis down to gross margin.

  • Support additional forecasting and business process improvement projects as needed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working with sales and operations teams to develop and maintain detailed sales forecasts (preferred).

  • Experience leading optimization/analysis using an agile way of working.

  • Experience in a CPG environment (highly preferred).

  • Knowledge of Tableau or other BI tools (preferred).

  • Knowledge of Workday Adaptive Insights, Oracle, or other forecasting tools (preferred).

  • Knowledge of syndicated data sources (e.g., SPINS, Nielsen) (preferred).

  • Intermediate or above Excel skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred).

  • Strong communication skills, business acumen, strategic thinking, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
