Data Scientist, Innovation Lab - Remote

Experian is a global data and technology company providing analytics and software to help businesses and consumers make better decisions across lending, fraud, healthcare, marketing, and other markets. The Innovation Lab is Experian’s R&D unit, and this Data Scientist role develops advanced analytical solutions and product prototypes while evaluating strategic data assets.

• Create advanced machine learning solutions to extract insights from structured and unstructured data sources.
• Select and apply appropriate machine learning, deep learning, and processing techniques to uncover data value.
• Design efficient data structures and storage solutions to improve data manipulation and retrieval.
• Innovate using tools for data processing and information retrieval.
• Analyze, dissect, and document large datasets to identify patterns and insights.
• Develop impactful algorithms to solve complex challenges.
• Validate models using performance metrics and analyze ROI and benefits.
• Document and present model processes, outcomes, findings, and performance metrics.

• Education: Master’s degree or higher in Machine Learning, Data Science, AI, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.

• Experience: 1+ years in AI, data science, or predictive modeling.

• Programming: Proficiency in at least one language; strong coding skills in Python.

• ML/DL: Experience with deep learning (CNN, RNN, LSTM, attention models) and machine learning methods (SVM, GLM, boosting, random forest); exposure to graph models and/or reinforcement learning.

• Tools: Experience with PyTorch, Keras, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, pandas.

• Big data: Experience with Spark (PySpark).

• GenAI: Experience with LLMs, generative AI tools, developing advanced language models, and applying GenAI-based tools.

• Data platforms: Experience with Hadoop and NoSQL technologies (MapReduce, Hive, HBase, MongoDB, Cassandra).

• Applied research: Experience modifying and applying advanced algorithms to practical problems.

• Work style: Remote, with flexibility to work remote, hybrid, or in-office (as available by location).
