Summary
CNN (Warner Bros. Discovery) is hiring an Analyst, Commerce to join the Revenue Analytics team. The role focuses on delivering actionable insights to improve user conversion across CNN’s digital commerce initiatives by partnering with Product, Editorial, Programming, Business Development, and Strategy.
What you'll do
- Support and conduct analyses of commerce initiatives across CNN’s digital platforms to identify trends and opportunities to optimize conversion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and evaluate hypotheses that support data-driven decision-making.
- Build and maintain reports and dashboards tracking key conversion metrics and KPIs.
- Conduct exploratory analyses to uncover friction points in the user experience and recommend improvements.
- Develop deep understanding of commerce data to proactively alert teams when metrics fall outside established thresholds and provide business-informed recommendations.
- Present findings in clear, concise formats to stakeholders with guidance from senior analysts and managers.
- Partner with data engineering and platform teams to ensure data accuracy and scalable analytics solutions.
Requirements
- 1+ years of analytics experience (preferred: affiliate commerce or digital media).
- Working knowledge of SQL for querying and analyzing large datasets.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Familiarity with basic affiliate and commerce analytics concepts (audience acquisition behavior, conversions, content optimization).
- Strong attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and focus on data quality.
- Curiosity about ecommerce, service journalism, and user behavior; interest in what drives engagement and conversion.
- Ability to learn and adapt as datasets evolve; logical mindset balancing speed and analytical depth.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines; communicate to diverse audiences and translate insights into recommendations.
- Nice to have: Tableau/Looker; Python/R; A/B testing and experimental design; statistical concepts (correlation, distributions, significance, hypothesis testing); degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science).
Conditions
- Compensation disclosed: $75,390–$140,010 per year base salary (actual pay varies by location, skills, experience, and performance); may include annual bonuses and short/long-term incentives.
