Product Development Manager

Summary

Crown Affair is a luxury haircare brand focused on accessible products, guidance, and community. The Product Development Manager will partner with the Director of Product to define and execute the long-term roadmap and lead end-to-end development from concept through launch. The role blends creativity, strategy, and analytics to drive innovation and ensure launches are delivered on time and within budget.

What you'll do

  • Work directly with the Director of Product to define and execute the long-term product roadmap
  • Lead product development from idea through launch, driving innovation for the brand and category
  • Partner with Product Strategy Manager and Director of Product to translate innovation vision into executable plans
  • Lead prototyping, development, and testing for new products (formula, packaging, tools, and merch items)
  • Manage relationships with third-party development partners and vendors to move projects forward
  • Collaborate with quality and regulatory experts to ensure reliability and compliance in key markets
  • Champion timelines and budgets; ensure launches are executed on schedule and within budget
  • Maintain close cross-functional communication with Operations, Brand, and Marketing
  • Use project management tools (Asana, Smartsheet) to track work and keep projects on course
  • Attend vendor and internal meetings to drive active development projects
  • Organize and maintain lab samples and master standards
  • Optimize processes and communication touchpoints to strengthen the product development function
  • Own reporting for product development KPIs and keep executives updated on function health and status

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • 4+ years of product development experience

  • Beauty and personal care experience required; haircare experience strongly preferred

  • Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to work with internal teams and external partners

  • Flexible and willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed

  • Problem-solving mindset with comfort dealing with ambiguity

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Action- and results-oriented approach

Conditions

  • Full-time role

  • Remote; Los Angeles or New York preferred
