Customer Support Operator | $85/hr Remote

Crossing Hurdles is hiring a remote Customer Support Operator (Telephone Operator) on a contract basis. The role focuses on routing and completing a wide range of telephone calls while providing accurate directory information and support. The position supports operational efficiency through careful documentation and use of dispatch and handheld software.

• Operate telephone switchboards/systems to initiate, advance, and complete calls (local, long distance, pay phone, mobile, person-to-person, and emergency connections).
• Monitor switchboard signal lights and route calls by dialing or pressing buttons to maintain seamless connections.
• Listen to customer requests, consult alphabetical/geographical directories, and provide accurate telephone information.
• Suggest and verify alternate spellings, locations, or listing formats when customer information is incomplete or unclear.
• Update and maintain directory information to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
• Receive, document, categorize, compile, and verify information from multiple sources.
• Use computer-aided dispatch software and handheld computer device software to process information and improve operational efficiency.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software and handheld computer device software.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to process and document information accurately.
• Ability to observe, receive, and interpret information from diverse sources.
• Comfort working directly with the public and delivering professional customer service remotely.
• Experience updating and verifying telephone directory information for large organizations.
• Background in a high-volume customer service or dispatch environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high accuracy.
