Summary
Cinemark, a global entertainment company with 500+ theatres and nearly 6,000 screens, is hiring a Data Scientist within its Data Science group (advanced analytics service arm).
The role develops and applies statistical and machine learning methods to solve business problems, generate consumer and business insights, and support enterprise-wide objectives with a focus on pricing analytics and decision sciences capability building.
What you'll do
- Design, optimize, and automate end-to-end pricing implementation workflows to reduce manual effort, improve speed-to-market, and ensure pricing accuracy across systems and channels.
- Develop and implement analytical solutions using statistical and numerical methods (predictive modeling, segmentation, optimization, and basic machine learning) to support pricing processes.
- Apply statistical best practices by assessing data limitations, variance, and uncertainty, and validating analyses and automated outputs.
- Conduct multi-channel analysis across online and offline environments.
- Research and develop new analytic methods aligned to business objectives.
- Deliver consumer insights work, including customer behavior analysis, product and promotion testing, real estate analytics, and concessions performance/allocation analysis.
- Produce compiled data, reports, and visualized results for all levels of the organization.
Requirements
- MS in Statistics, Math, Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, or related field, with 3–5 years of experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on programming experience in Python (e.g., Pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch).
- Statistical modeling expertise.
- Knowledge of classification systems, recommendation systems, and predictive modeling.
- Advanced SQL capability; ability to query large, complex datasets in relational databases.
- Intermediate to advanced statistics knowledge including error analysis and experimental design.
- Experience with customer data in a retail/entertainment environment (preferred).
- Data visualization tools experience (Power BI preferred).
- Strong data interpretation, visualization, and presentation skills.
- Ability to explain modeling approaches, tradeoffs, results, and interpretation to team members.
- Collaborative teamwork skills; intellectually curious and quick thinker.
- Willingness/ability to take ownership as a technical lead on projects.
