FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYSIS ANALYST

Summary

CELINE, a fast-growing French leather-goods couture house within the LVMH Fashion group, is hiring a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst in New York City. The role supports budgeting, forecasting, monthly close, and financial reporting to deliver insights that guide business decisions across luxury retail operations.

What you'll do

  • Support the monthly close process in collaboration with Accounting and FP&A.
  • Prepare journal entries and accruals (e.g., inventory, expenses, recurring expenses).
  • Perform variance analysis versus actuals, budget, and prior year to identify key performance drivers.
  • Assist with monthly financial deliverables, including P&L by channel/store, balance sheet and cash flow reporting, and cost center tracking/analysis.
  • Assist in annual budget preparation and periodic reforecasts.
  • Collect, consolidate, and validate financial inputs from departments.
  • Maintain and update reports in the budgeting system.
  • Create presentations and summaries for management review.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Retail, Merchandising, HR, etc.) to gather information and provide financial visibility.
  • Prepare performance reports and analysis for internal stakeholders; identify risks and opportunities through data-driven insights.
  • Support ad hoc analyses and special projects (retail productivity, investment tracking/benchmarking, store and channel profitability).
  • Assist with calculation and validation of retail commissions.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and financial tool enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance (required).
  • 0–2 years of experience in FP&A, Accounting, or similar finance functions.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English; French is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills; strong PowerPoint and MS Office skills.
  • Preferred experience with ERP systems (JDE, Cegid, Dynamics).
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills; detail oriented.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to interact with all levels including senior leadership and retail associates.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, able to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Retail knowledge is a plus.
