Murphy Research is a full-service custom market research firm providing qualitative and quantitative insights for major brands across industries. The Research Associate supports the development, execution, and analysis of consulting research projects to help clients make business decisions. This role is designed to launch a research consulting career through training, mentorship, and hands-on project work.
What you'll do
Support the development, execution, and analysis of custom market research studies in a fast-paced, deadline-driven consulting environment.
Collaborate with a team of researchers to drive study progress and meet tight project timelines.
Assist with project management, data processing, questionnaire design, report writing, and research methodology under senior leadership mentorship.
Manage vendor relationships and oversee data collection activities.
Identify and address quality control issues across online programs, data tables, and reports.
Work with large datasets and develop PowerPoint charts and reporting materials.
Requirements
Background in social sciences; degree or lab experience in psychology, sociology, or anthropology preferred.
Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research methods through coursework, internships, or work experience.
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills; high attention to detail when working with large datasets.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; comfortable collaborating in virtual environments.
Excellent time management and ability to prioritize across multiple projects.
Client-service mindset and ability to maintain quality under fast-paced and changing conditions.
Conditions
Full-time role.
Hybrid work model: in-office Tuesdays and Thursdays; remote work on non-office days.
Must live within commuting distance of the Century City (CA) or downtown Minneapolis (MN) co-working spaces.
Must be located in California or Minnesota; no relocation offered.
Start date availability between now and May.
