DATA ANALYST ADMINISTRATOR II
Summary
The State of Maryland Department of Social and Economic Mobility (DoSEM) is hiring a Data Analyst Administrator II to manage and enhance enterprise data systems supporting certification and compliance programs. The role analyzes program performance and equity impacts and delivers actionable insights to inform policy, strategic planning, and operational improvements.
What you'll do
- Analyze certification and program data to identify trends, measure performance, and support data-driven decision making.
- Maintain, validate, and enhance agency data systems to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and reliability.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and data summaries for leadership, program staff, and external stakeholders.
- Conduct research and analysis on certification and contracting initiatives to support policy development and strategic planning.
- Collaborate with program staff and leadership to improve data collection processes, reporting workflows, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
Education: High school diploma or high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Five (5) years of administrative staff or professional work.
Selective qualification: Three (3) years of experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data using data analysis or data visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, R, Python, Tableau, Power BI) to develop reports, dashboards, or analytical products supporting operations or decision-making.
Preferred: Two (2) years cleaning, validating, and managing large/complex datasets using databases or data management platforms; two (2) years conducting quantitative/performance analysis or program evaluation in government/public sector and presenting findings to non-technical stakeholders.
License (if assigned driving duties): Valid motor vehicle operator’s license in the State of Maryland.
Substitutions: College credits/degrees may substitute for some required experience as described in the posting (up to a Master’s degree substituting for required experience).
