Eqvilent is seeking a Legal Counsel specializing in Contracts to serve as trusted legal advisor to commercial, technology, and HR teams. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts across diverse jurisdictions while managing the entire contract lifecycle and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
What you'll do
- Legal Counsel & Partnership: Act as trusted legal counsel for contract team and advise commercial, technology, and HR teams on business-oriented legal matters. Build company-wide trust through high-quality, responsive, and business-aligned legal support.
- Contract Management & Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts across diverse jurisdictions. Prepare and negotiate term sheets and final agreements. Manage entire contract lifecycle from drafting through closing with meticulous documentation of negotiation stages.
- Documentation & Compliance: Guide internal teams on standard form documents and templates. Maintain contract repository, power of attorney database, and project workspaces. Prepare management reports on contract activity and project status. Perform quality control reviews of legal and compliance documentation.
- Team Collaboration: Provide support to other Eqvilent legal teams as requested.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Law required; Master's degree in Law or compatible field preferred.
- Experience: 2-4 years in contract department of in-house company, corporate secretarial, or related function. Preferably managing multiple jurisdictions or experience in international law firm.
- Skills: Strong understanding of contract law, corporate governance, and legal frameworks across common law and continental law jurisdictions. Excellent contract drafting and AI prompt writing skills. Risk identification and solution-oriented approach aligned with business goals. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication. Proactive approach and ability to work under tight deadlines. Advanced English proficiency; Russian fluency a plus.
