Cyprus Remote Lead
Summary
Lovi is seeking a Head of Legal to establish and lead the legal function within a fast-growing Series B healthtech startup. The role focuses on building lean and scalable legal and compliance operations while providing high-quality legal support tailored for rapid growth.
What you'll do
- Establish and lead the legal function with focus on lean and scalable legal and compliance operations
- Design and implement data protection governance frameworks across multiple jurisdictions, including GDPR and key U.S. state privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA)
- Address and manage all legal matters related to intellectual property, brand protection, and contract management
- Manage key corporate transactions, including equity and debt financing, fundraising, cap table management, and corporate governance matters
- Identify and mitigate legal and compliance risks related to consumer-facing wellness and fitness mobile products
- Lead implementation of legal compliance and risk management strategies, policies, and processes
- Provide expert legal advice on international business matters and coordinate with internal teams and external legal consultants
Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years of post-qualified legal experience
- Experience in consumer mobile applications industry, preferably healthtech or digital wellness sector
- Proven experience in corporate governance and commercial matters, ideally within technology or startup settings
- Proven track record of at least 3 years of managerial experience
- Strong knowledge of laws and regulations across European and US markets
- Experience setting up effective and lean legal operations with relevant tools
- Fluency in English (spoken and written)
