Orvix Engineering is an engineering firm delivering innovative solutions and high-quality services across multiple industries. The Data Entry Assistant supports the organization by ensuring company data is accurate, consistent, and accessible across internal databases and tools.
What you'll do
- Accurately enter and update data in internal systems, databases, and spreadsheets, ensuring completeness and correctness
- Cross-check data for accuracy, identify discrepancies, and correct errors to maintain data integrity
- Organize, categorize, and maintain electronic and paper records in line with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Generate routine and ad-hoc reports by compiling data from multiple sources and presenting it clearly
- Regularly update and clean datasets, removing outdated or inaccurate records to preserve data quality
- Support data integration across systems to ensure consistency and smooth transitions
- Monitor and maintain database integrity in collaboration with the Data Manager
- Collaborate with engineering, finance, and project management teams to align data with business needs
- Maintain organized digital files for easy retrieval and compliance
- Protect sensitive information by following confidentiality, security, and legal requirements
- Perform routine data quality audits and checks
- Provide administrative support, including preparing documents, reports, and communication materials as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in a related field preferred
- Proven experience in data entry, administrative support, or similar roles (preferably in an engineering or technical environment)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors or inconsistencies in large datasets
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with ability to prioritize tasks
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data entry software; CRM or project management tools experience is a plus
- Familiarity with data management and database tools such as Microsoft Access, Google Sheets, or similar
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Knowledge of engineering terminology and data processes is advantageous but not required
