Moderator (Night Shift)

Slickdeals is a large shopping and deals community platform with over 10 million users. This contract Moderator (Night Shift) role, via TCW in partnership with Slickdeals, ensures site and forum content complies with rules and policies while supporting and guiding the community. The purpose is to enforce guidelines, handle reports, and collaborate with internal teams to maintain a safe, trustworthy experience.

• Respond to and act on community reports of potential policy, rule, or guideline violations
• Proactively monitor site/forums to identify disallowed content and violations
• Document user and merchant infractions thoroughly
• Issue notifications, warnings, and bans when violations are confirmed
• Handle and respond to appeals/protests related to moderation actions
• Identify patterns related to spam and shilling behavior
• Arbitrate disputes between community members and de-escalate tense situations
• Communicate issues to partner teams (Deal Editors, Forum QA, Business Development, Product) when their action is required
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current rules, policies, and guidelines
• Assist with account closure requests
• Serve as an ambassador for Slickdeals and its community

• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Considerable experience arbitrating disagreements
• Ability to maintain composure and resilience ("thick skin")
• Ability to write detailed documentation
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Preferred: Proficiency with Google Docs and Google Sheets
• Preferred: Familiarity with internet terms/technologies (e.g., IP, VPN)
• Preferred: Understanding of the Slickdeals community and culture
• Preferred: Experience moderating forum-based communities
