Summary
The Walt Disney Company is building a newly created team for the Disney+ Subscriber Perks program. The Data Analyst will turn complex data into strategic decisions by designing experiments and causal analyses that optimize acquisition through long-term subscriber engagement across Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+.
What you'll do
- Lead end-to-end A/B tests and geo experiments, including hypothesis creation, experimental design, analysis, and recommendations.
- Apply causal inference methods (e.g., difference-in-differences, instrumental variables, quasi-experimental designs) to generate insights from observational data.
- Partner with Commerce, Product, Marketing, Partnerships, Finance, and Engineering to identify optimization opportunities and translate findings into business actions.
- Present results to senior leadership and communicate statistical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Build scalable and automated experimentation pipelines, causal inference frameworks, and user-facing analytical tools that scale across marketing platforms.
Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong programming skills in R, Python, or similar languages.
- Expertise in SQL for exploring and analyzing large datasets.
- Familiarity with data platforms/tools such as Databricks, Jupyter, Snowflake, Redshift, and Airflow.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Plotly).
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking; ability to translate complex analyses into clear, actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with experimentation design and analysis.
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end causal inference analyses from requirements to outcomes.
- Practical experience with applied statistics and data science methods (e.g., regression, machine learning, deep learning, forecasting, Bayesian estimation, causal inference).
- Strong relationship-building and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Data Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
Nice to have:
- Git/version control exposure.
- Streaming media and/or direct-to-consumer subscription product experience.
- Distributed databases and query languages (Spark, Scala).
- Streamlit or React web development experience.
- Experience using or building Gen AI solutions.
- Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Economics, CS, ML, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or related).
