Summary
Berkadia is seeking a Real Estate/Financial Analyst to join its multifamily investment sales team in the San Francisco office. The role supports the sale of existing apartment properties, land sales, and joint venture equity raises through underwriting, market intelligence, and client-ready materials.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial underwriting models for commercial real estate development, acquisition, and disposition.
- Break down and analyze P&L statements and rent rolls.
- Conduct rent surveys and respond to investor questions.
- Write and support preparation of offering memorandums and other deal marketing materials.
- Utilize and maintain databases tracking investment sales activity, construction pipeline, and relevant real estate metrics.
- Review industry surveys and benchmarks, plus economic and demographic trends.
- Assist in research, writing, and proofing of market intelligence for marketing materials.
- Prepare and present analysis results (including graphics and charts) in a clear and concise manner.
- Occasionally present and support analyses to clients.
- Build strong working relationships with the team to understand and address market intelligence needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Advanced Excel modeling skills, including proficiency in VBA and complex formulas.
- Strong data analytics experience (demographics, competitors, industry trends).
- Excellent written communication skills and ability to convey complex ideas via writing and data visualization.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong commitment to accuracy.
- Commercially astute; able to understand needs of investment management firms, brokers, and lenders.
- 1–3 years of experience in a similar position.
- Eye for graphic design (for client-facing materials).
Conditions
- Location: San Francisco office.
- Compensation range provided: $75,000–$85,000 USD base salary (actual offer depends on role scope, location, and candidate qualifications); may include additional incentives.
