Medical Device Delivery Driver

Summary

Inogen is hiring a Support Specialist I (Medical Device Delivery Driver) to ensure respiratory equipment placed in patients’ homes meets clinical needs. The role primarily supports the local Referral Development Manager by handling deliveries, setup, documentation, and related patient support activities.

What you'll do

  • Pick up and deliver respiratory equipment to patients at home or at facilities such as hospitals and physician offices.

  • Assemble, set up, inspect, and test equipment; instruct patients and caregivers on basic operation and maintenance within state licensing limitations.

  • Gather customer information, fulfill customer needs, educate customers to reduce further contacts, and document account interactions.

  • Maintain high-quality, professional, and courteous customer care.

  • Complete paperwork related to deliveries, pickups, and testing.

  • Operate a non-commercial vehicle transporting medical equipment and follow all safe driving programs, laws, and ordinances.

  • Maintain required valid licenses and endorsements.

  • Facilitate credit card payments using the company-approved process.

  • Work after-hours and on an on-call basis as needed, including weekend and holiday coverage.

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance; comply with all company policies and procedures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).

  • 1 year experience delivering home medical equipment (required); oxygen therapy or respiratory-related experience preferred.

  • Intermediate knowledge/proficiency in Microsoft Office (required).

  • Ability to instruct patients remotely and in person in the safe use of equipment.

  • Knowledge of technologies used in cardiopulmonary disease treatments related to provided services.

  • Ability to self-manage and work independently; strong work ethic.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency using a laptop and electronic tablet; strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to meet driving/safety program requirements and maintain valid licenses/endorsements.

Conditions

  • Compensation: base pay expected between $19.44 and $22.36 per hour (actual pay determined by skills, education, experience, and market location).

  • May require after-hours work and on-call coverage, including weekends and holidays.

  • Role involves driving a non-commercial vehicle and transporting medical equipment.
