Data Analyst
Summary
City of San Antonio is hiring a Data Analyst to interpret and present data that supports informed organizational decision-making. The role focuses on collecting, processing, analyzing, and communicating insights and may assist with reports, dashboards, and presentations.
What you'll do
Collect, clean, and analyze data from various sources to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Assist with data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.
Apply statistical methods and data modeling techniques to interpret data and make predictions.
Maintain databases and data collection systems to support data quality and efficiency.
Create visualizations and dashboards to present findings.
Communicate complex data insights clearly to non-technical audiences.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver data-driven solutions.
Follow data privacy and security compliance in all data handling and processing activities.
Stay current with data analysis tools, techniques, and industry trends for continuous improvement.
Optimize and automate data analysis processes where possible to enhance efficiency.
Assist in preparing written reports, summaries, and presentations as needed.
Perform related duties as required.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Knowledge of data analysis and technology.
Knowledge of data models, database design/development, data mining, and related techniques.
Knowledge of computer software and hardware applications.
Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets.
Knowledge of budget and accounting principles.
Ability to identify, gather, and evaluate data.
Ability to provide technical assistance to users.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Ability to operate a computer keyboard and other basic computer equipment.
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without accommodations.

Conditions
Work location: City Tower, 100 W. Houston St.
Work hours: 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.
Employment contingent on satisfactory pre-employment drug testing and background checks; additional checks (e.g., physical, motor vehicle record evaluation) may be conducted if required.
Must successfully complete the City of San Antonio Cash-Handling Certification Training.
If selected, official transcripts/diplomas and other required documentation must be submitted during processing.
Primarily office environment.
