Summary
Teak is a SaaS company reinventing refunds with an embedded refund protection platform used across e-commerce experiences at scale. The Junior QA Engineer will support the quality of Teak’s technology stack by executing foundational testing activities within an existing, high-performing team. This role is designed for recent graduates who are eager to learn and grow under guidance from senior QA members.
What you'll do
- Write, execute, and maintain basic manual test cases; perform manual regression testing.
- Document test execution results, defects, and contribute to process documentation.
- Collaborate with Senior QA Engineers and product owners to create and update test cases in TestRail aligned to user stories and business requirements.
- Assist with exploratory testing for new and existing features, including partner site testing.
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand functionality, identify issues, log bugs in the tracking system, and verify fixes are implemented correctly.
- Communicate test results and progress updates to stakeholders.
- Learn and experiment with new testing methodologies, automation concepts (e.g., Playwright), and AI-assisted tools for test planning.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint ceremonies, and QA syncs, providing regular status updates.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to think logically and derive test cases from project descriptions.
- Ability to learn and apply new testing methodologies and tools.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
- Basic understanding and ability to write code in TypeScript.
- No formal QA experience required; must be technically curious, eager to learn, and excited to grow.
Bonus:
- Familiarity with manual testing tools and bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
- Basic understanding of SDLC and agile methodologies.
- Experience with Python and TypeScript.
- Interest in test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright) and AI tools for test planning/productivity.
