Senior QA Engineer (Azure DevOps Test Plans, API + Data Validation)

Scavenger Tech is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to validate functional quality and enforce structured test processes before staging and production releases. You will have authority to block releases when acceptance criteria are not met and ensure disciplined validation cycles with traceability.

• Review requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria; design test cases covering positive, negative, boundary, and edge cases
• Maintain Azure DevOps Test Plans and RTM (Requirements Traceability Matrix)
• Execute functional, regression, and integration test cycles; validate acceptance criteria and perform exploratory and smoke testing before release
• Log reproducible defects with evidence, track lifecycle, verify fixes, and analyze root-cause trends
• Maintain and expand regression test suites based on defect trends; revalidate impacted modules during updates
• Perform API testing using Postman and validate request/response/error handling; write basic SQL queries for backend data validation
• Validate basic OWASP scenarios and access-control testing; support pre-production validation checks
• Participate in Go/No-Go decisions and provide formal QA sign-off; block releases for critical and high-severity defects

• 5+ years of QA and testing experience with enterprise applications
• Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies and structured test management tools
• Strong test case design and execution skills with regression management expertise
• Acceptance criteria validation and RTM discipline
• API testing with Postman and basic SQL skills (SELECT, JOIN, filters) for data validation
• Experience with Azure DevOps/TFS/Jira defect lifecycle management, severity/priority classification, and trend analysis
• Awareness of SDLC stages, Azure DevOps Test Plans, basic OWASP Top 10, and basic CI/CD understanding
• Nice-to-have: ISTQB Foundation certification, AZ-900 certification, and OWASP awareness training

Authority to block releases and reject unclear requirements for testing. Cannot change scope/logic or override architecture and security standards.
