Senior QA Engineer

Remote Senior

Summary

Mobilunity is recruiting a Senior QA Engineer on behalf of a UK-based technology company specializing in transport retail and digital ticketing platforms. The role focuses on ensuring end-to-end product quality across mobile and web platforms while driving strong testing practices in a distributed engineering environment.

What you'll do

  • Own quality end-to-end from requirements review to post-release validation
  • Apply shift-left mindset to identify risks early in the SDLC
  • Drive test strategy and coverage for mobile applications (iOS/Android) and web platforms
  • Validate API integrations and distributed client-server interactions
  • Perform functional and non-functional testing in real-world scenarios
  • Contribute to QA process improvements and quality standards
  • Contribute to API automation using Postman (approximately 20% of role)

Requirements

Must have:

  • 5+ years of QA experience in software development
  • 3+ years testing mobile applications (iOS and Android)
  • Strong analytical skills and deep understanding of test design techniques
  • Solid understanding of client-server architecture and web technologies
  • Experience testing REST APIs and working with debugging tools
  • Practical experience with test documentation and test management systems
  • Basic SQL knowledge
  • Experience with traffic inspection tools (Charles, HttpToolkit)
  • Hands-on experience with non-functional testing (performance, reliability, real-device scenarios)

Nice to have:

  • Test automation experience (mobile/web/API)
  • Hands-on experience with Postman, Cypress, or Appium
  • Programming background in any language
  • Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools (Sentry, Grafana)
  • Experience with cloud device farms (BrowserStack)

Schedule & Location: Flexible - choose between office location in city center (900m from Lukyanivska metro station) or remote work
