Junior Credit Analyst

Summary

Altbanq, a fast-growing fintech lending platform, is seeking a Junior Credit Analyst to join their credit team in Midtown Manhattan. You'll work alongside experienced underwriters and the Chief Risk Officer, gaining hands-on experience in credit analysis, financial review, and risk assessment for loan origination and portfolio management.

What you'll do

Review borrower credit reports and conduct background checks; search public records for liens, judgments, bankruptcies, and UCC filings; analyze financial documents including bank statements, P&L statements, balance sheets, and tax returns to assess cash flow and credit risk; support senior analysts on credit reviews and complex cases; learn and apply Altbanq's credit policies and risk guidelines; prepare credit summaries and memos for internal review and approval.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or related field; proficiency in Microsoft Excel including formulas, filters, and basic functions; strong interest in credit analysis, lending, financial risk, and transaction due diligence; high attention to detail; clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to stay organized and meet deadlines.
